About the Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded by the Columbus State University whose vision is to prepare students to serve the world as creative problem-solvers and high impact leaders. The university empowers individuals to contribute to the advancement of local and global communities through an emphasis on excellence in teaching and research, lifelong learning, cultural enrichment, and service to others. This foundation seeks to improve the quality of life for determined Hispanic individuals and their families through education. A student can use the scholarship amount to cover their educational expenses like tuition, fees, room, and board.
How to apply for the scholarship?
The applicant should complete the online application which can be found on the Columbus State University website.
A student must also fill in the FAFSA application form to determine the paying capability of their family.
Along with the application, the applicant should submit a recommendation letter and academic transcripts in order to prove their academic excellence.
How much the scholarship award amounts to?
The award covers the entire tuition, currently valued at approximately $7,000 per year for in-state students and $20,000 yearly for out-of-state students.
The award is renewable for up to an additional three years and 2 deserving candidates receive the award amount.
All the necessary documents along with the application form must be submitted to the institution no later than June 15. The deadline information is according to the academic year 2018. For any further clarification, a student can contact the financial aid division of the university.
The preference will be given to students of Hispanic/Latino heritage with families living in the USA.
A student must be enrolled in any program in Columbia State University.
An applicant must demonstrate a need for financial assistance and involvement in any services.
