About the Scholarship

The Friends of Alan Turing Scholarship is one among the scholarships for underrepresented groups which are known to aid or fund the educational needs of students who belong to the LGBTQ community and had a very strong proclamation across the Northwest.

The scholarship was established in 2013 by the Pride Foundation and has been providing financial aid ever since 2014. The program has supported brilliant students who struggle to pursue higher education due to economic, racial, social, geographical or political barriers.

Friends Of Alan Turing Scholarship Amount

  • The non-renewable scholarship award available varies from $500 to $12000, annually.

  • According to the previous year, the average amount is around $4160 which is only awarded once a year.

Friends Of Alan Turing Scholarship Requirements

  • The applicant must be permanently residing in the states of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon or Washington but can be enrolled in any educational institution.

  • The students must be enrolled in an accredited college, university or any other educational institution for postsecondary education.

  • The applicants must be pursuing a degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) fields of study.

  • Freshman, sophomores or juniors from high school are ineligible to apply.

  • The applicants are expected to stay committed to human and civil rights for all people.

  • The applicants must demonstrate financial need.

Friends of Alan Turing Scholarship Deadline

The scholarship application and other documents will not be accepted past the deadline. The application commences on 11th October 2019.


Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant for this scholarship should showcase leadership strength either within the LGBTQ community and in the STEM field of study.

  • A student with a lack of broader LGBTQ community support system can apply for this scholarship.

  • The applicant should display significant financial need.
