About the Scholarship

The scholarship is awarded by the Community Foundation of North Central Washington, a tax-exempt organization that helps individuals, families, businesses, and agencies support charitable causes throughout  Chelan, Douglas, and Okanogan counties. Through their Community Grants Program, nonprofit organizations can apply for financial support to continue to do the work that enhances our communities. The grant was established to honor the memory of Kellen Biggar, a Waterville High School student, who excelled at a variety of sports. The selection for the grant will be done based on factors including academic merit, athletic performances, and financial need.

How to apply for the scholarship?

  • Interested applicants must first create an account on the Community Foundation of NCW online site and complete the eligibility quiz. Only then applicants will be able to access the individual applications for any eligible scholarships.

  • Along with the application, the applicants should submit their academic transcripts, EFC (expected family contribution) from their SAR (Student Aid Report), two reference contacts information, and FAFSA.

How much the scholarship award amounts to?

The award amounts to $1,500 yearly and is non-renewable

One scholarship will be provided per year.

Deadline Information

The deadline date is set for April 1

Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be a graduating senior of Waterville High School and have attended Waterville Schools for at least six years

  • Participate in extracurricular Waterville High School sports for a minimum of two years

  • Complete a minimum of two different sports seasons within one school year

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
