About the Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded by the Maine Osteopathic Association, an organization that aims to serve the osteopathic profession in the state of Maine through a coordinated effort of professional education, profession advocacy, and member services in order to ensure the quality of osteopathic care to the people of this state. All students of the University of New England, College of Osteopathic Medicine receive a free MOA membership during their medical training. Any student who is a graduate of a public or private secondary school in Maine is considered eligible.
How to apply for the scholarship?
Interested applicants should complete the application which can be found on the Maine Osteopathic Association online site or by contacting the financial aid office.
Along with the application, the applicant should submit academic transcripts, an essay explaining his/her achievements and work experiences, and FAFSA.
How much the scholarship award amounts to?
- The award amounts to $1,000 yearly and is non-renewable.
- One award is offered yearly.
The deadline date is set for June 30
Students should attend accredited and AOA approved colleges of osteopathic medicine.
Applicants must be Maine residents.
An applicant who is a graduate of a public or private secondary school in Maine is considered eligible regardless of whether or not the applicant has resided elsewhere in the interim between graduation and application.
