About the Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded by the From the Bow Seat organization. An organization that provides an innovative space for teens to connect, create, and communicate for our ocean. The global Ocean Awareness Student Contest is a platform for young adults to learn about ocean issues through art-making and creative communication, and where teens can explore their relationship to a changing world and become advocates for environmental action. It is open to students from 11-18 years of age.
How to apply for the scholarship?
The applicant should complete the application form that can be found From The Bow Seat website.
The applicant should pick one aspect of ocean pollution and respond to it by submitting a work, which can be an essay, visual art, prose, poetry, music, or film.
The applicant should also submit a written reflection that explains the idea and concept that inspired the primary submission.
Deadline and Scholarship Amount
The award ranges from $100 for honorable mention to $1,500 for the gold prize.
The awards provided cannot be renewed.
All the documents must be submitted to the institution on or before the deadline June 17 to avail the scholarship benefits. For any further details, a student can contact the financial aid division of the organization.
Application is open to students in middle school or high school worldwide.
Applicants proof of age, identity, or eligibility may be required.
