About the Scholarship

The Paul Tsongas Scholarship is awarded based on academic excellence for the students of Massachusetts who maintain the cumulative grade point average as mentioned by the financial aid as it is purely a merit-based award.

The qualified student will get the fund amount which covers the overall expense of the tuition and academic fees at a Massachusetts state University and any other 


How to Apply for Scholarship?

  • The applicants are required to fill and submit the FAFSA application form to determine his/her financial need for the academic study.

  • An applicant must apply directly through his/her financial aid department of their college or university.

  • It depends on the university or a college that what additional forms or supplemental information need to be submitted before valuating one's profile.

  • In addition to that, an applicant should provide a copy of their official transcript of ACT/SAT scorecards.


Award Amount and Deadline

The organization awards $8000 to all the qualified applicants and is renewable up to three additional years of graduate study. A student make use of this amount to pay for all their educational expenses.

For any further details about the scholarship, a student can contact their financial aid department and submit all the necessary documents no later than a fixed date.


Eligibility Criteria

  • To avail the benefits of scholarship, a student must have a grade point average of 3.75 or above and SAT scores of at least 1200. 

  • An applicant must be studying at Massachusetts state university.

  • Candidates should be a permanent legal resident of Massachusetts for at least one year prior to the opening of the academic year or an eligible non-US citizen under Title IV regulations.
