About the Scholarship
This Scholarship is provided by Seabee Memorial Scholarship Association (SMSA). SMSA gives scholarships to the children and grandchildren of Civil Engineer Corps (CEC) and America's fighting Seabees officers for attending accredited colleges and universities. The Seabee Memorial Scholarship Association (SMSA) was formed in 1970 to sponsor and built momentum in Washington DC to honor the memory of those who served in Naval Construction Battalions.
How to Apply
Students applying for this scholarship get the application from the Seabee Memorial Scholarship Association (SMSA) official website. In addition to the application, the applicant must submit a copy of an official document that verifies the rank/rate, service number and a Seabee/CEC unit in which the sponsor served.
Applicant have to submit a description of any household disabilities or hardships.
Applicant have to submit Student Aid Report (SAR).
This Scholarship award provides $3100 per annum and is renewable. There are 15 to 25 awards annually.
The applications are to be submitted by the end of April 15, 2019. Students are informed to submit their scholarship application and other requirements before the due date to meet eligibility. Applications and other related information are available online on the Seabee Memorial Scholarship Association official website.
The applicant must be a current undergraduate student or a high school senior at the time of application.
The applicant must be a U.S citizen.
The applicant must be the son, daughter, stepchild or grandchild of a regular, reserve, retired or deceased officer or enlisted member who has served or who is now serving with the Naval Construction Force (Seabees) or Navy Civil Engineer Corps, or who has served, but has since been honorably discharged.
