About the Scholarship
SREB Doctoral Scholarship for Georgia Residents is awarded for minority students who are pursuing a Ph.D. and willing to become a professor in college or institution. The scholarship considers and selects only those applicants who are under the most economical crisis in the view of their pursuing doctorate program. The organization is funding from the year 1993, the program has supported more than 1,660 scholars who have attended 107 institutions in more than 30 states. The award can help the students in many ways like for research funding, career counseling and job postings, a scholar directory for networking and recruiting, an invitation to the annual Institute on Teaching and Mentoring, and continued early career support.
How to Apply for Scholarship?
The scholarship application is available on the SERB official website so that an applicant must create an account with username and password to access the application.
A student must show their interest in pursuing a Ph.D. and choosing teacher as a career profession
Applicants are required to submit three letters of recommendation. One letter should provide information about the number of colleges/institutions a student has attended. and the other two must demonstrate evidence of acceptance to the Ph.D. program, and proof of state residency and citizenship.
Award Amount and Deadline:
The organization is funding $20000 to all qualified applicants.
The scholarship deadline is on 31st March. All applicants must apply to this scholarship before the mentioned deadline date.
A student should be accepted into or enrolled in a full-time, campus-based Ph.D. program.
A student should be a U.S. citizen or have legal permanent resident status.
A student should receive a bachelor’s or master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university by the beginning of the fall semester.
