About the Scholarship
SREB Doctoral Scholarship for Virginia Residents is accredited by Southern Regional Education Board. SREB was created in 1948 by Southern governors and legislators who recognized the link between education and economic vitality. This scholarship encourages those applicants who seek Ph.D.s in the STEM disciplines. The Doctoral Scholars Program provides multiple layers of support — not only financial assistance and research funding, but also career counseling, job postings and a scholar directory for networking and recruiting.
What are the Basic requirements required for this scholarship?
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application must be filed by the applicants for this scholarship.
Students must have been admitted into a Ph.D. program or have not begun the second year of study.
- The applicant must provide a letter of interest that includes the applicant's teaching and career goals; three letters of recommendation; transcripts for all educational institutions attended; evidence of acceptance to a Ph.D. program; and proof of state residency and citizenship.
SREB Doctoral Scholarship for Virginia Residents amounts to
The selected students will receive a stipend of $20000 but not more than $75000 annually, this scholarship also provides full-tuition fees if the students are attending a partner institution.
Approximately 12 awards are offered each year.
The applications are to be submitted by the end of March 31, 2020. The applications are available on the official website provided by Southern Regional Education Board(SREB) and the information can also be found on the website.
