Rhode Island, a U.S. state in New England, is known for sandy shores and seaside Colonial towns. The Rhode Island although being the smallest state in America is home to various government and private colleges, as well as a few well-known universities that offer a wide range of programs and majors. The state offers its students many opportunities and programs to explore, learn and shape their careers accordingly, but the educational expenses are always a major obstacle for students who are not able to afford the education due to lack of financial aid, thus there are numerous scholarship opportunities for the residents of the state. There are various government and non-government organizations providing scholarship opportunities to the residents of the state as well as non-resident students who are enrolled or planning to be enrolled in one of the accredited colleges, universities, or any other educational institutions.

There are a total of 12 colleges in Rhode Island, 3 public and 9 private as well as a few universities such as University of Rhode Island, Brown University, Bryant University, Johnson and Wales University, and Roger Williams University which provide the students with a chance to pursue their higher education in various fields. Institutions offer financial aid to the students of the state in the form of scholarships, grants, and loans. Though loans and grants are to be repaid most of the time, whereas the scholarships are a form of reward for the deserving students and thus no need of repayment, There are various scholarships awarded by various institutions to aid the students to pursue higher education within the state, some of which are enlisted below:-

  • New England and Regional Student program:-This program provides a discount on the tuition fees to the residents of New England when they enroll in an approved degree program from any college or university in the states of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont, etc.
