Application Process

The office of admissions begins an application evaluation once all information is received and processed from a student.

Every aspect of the application is considered: academic records, standardized test scores, personal statement, and requested program of study.

The admissions committee prioritizes applicants with strong academic credentials and notifies the applicant of a decision soon after completion. First-year student Admission

Graduate Admissions

Transfer Students

  • The applicants are required to submit the completed online application for undergraduate admissions.

  • The university also requires the official college transcript(s) of the applicants.

  • The applicants are required to submit the final transcript after all grades are posted.

  • The applicants must also submit transcripts from each college/university attended.

  • The university requires the applicants to submit their AP, IB test score(s), if applicable.

  • The applicants are required to have a cumulative college/university GPA of 2.0 or higher.

  • The university prefers candidates with good academic and personal standing at prior institutions.

  • If the applicant has fewer than 12 transferable credits, an official high school transcript or equivalent transcript is required by the university.

  • Applicants whose credentials do not satisfy the above criteria, but whose maturity indicates a potential for success is eligible for provisional admission.

For the transfer of credits, the university participates in the MichiganTransfer Agreement.

A minimum of 30 credits must be taken at the community college to satisfy MTA, including:

  • 1 course in English Composition and a second English Composition or Communications course

  • 1 course in Mathematics from one of three pathways: College Algebra, Statistics, or Quantitative Reasoning

  • 2 courses in Social Sciences (from two disciplines)

  • 2 courses in Humanities and Fine Arts (from two disciplines, excluding studio and performance)

  • 2 courses in Natural Sciences including one with laboratory experience (from two disciplines)
