It is interesting to note that, every year, around 95% of students at RCAD receive some kind of financial aid, while the total amount of assistance/loans provided is $5,587,790. Notably, a total of 25% of the applicants to Ringling College of Art and Design receive the Federal Grant every year. Meanwhile, 95% of the applicants receive the Student Grant and 93% are awarded the Institution Grant, while 25% of the students get the Pell Grant. Furthermore, the average aid for the Federal Grant receivers is $5,596, and the same stands at $5,702 for State Grant awardees and $12,232 for Institution Grant recipients. And, for the Pell Grant awardees, the average aid amount is $4,757. Among other things, the annual family income of the applicant plays a major role in determining the total financial aid they are actually eligible to receive. Students whose family income per annum is less than $30,000 will receive a federal aid of $19,284 on average in a year. The average aid amount stands at $17,212 for an annual family income between $30,001 and $48,000. This amount comes to $14,962 for those who fall under the $48,001-$75,000 family income bracket. Meanwhile, the average federal aid for students in the $75,001-$110,000 income bracket is $12,852. And, for those with a family income of more than $110,000, the amount stands at $10,983. In addition to financial grants and scholarship schemes, students can also avail of monetary benefits like student loans to pay for their education. However, student loans attract a certain rate of interest at which the funds are borrowed. Moreover, the funds received through these loans will have to be repaid within a given timeframe. At RCAD, an estimated number of 47% of the applicants choose to go for student loans.
