Keiser University is a private non-profit university founded by Arthur and Evelyn Keiser, a mother-son duo, who created the college in Florida during the year 1977. Their intention was to create an open environment for adult learners who want to seek career-focused education. It offers over 100 courses in various fields, each of which have different levels of certifications; from associate program certificates to doctorate degree certificates.
On top of being licensed by the Commission for Independent Education, the university is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award certificates of all levels of degrees; from associate levels to doctorate levels.
Initially, the university was a for-profit university, until Arthur Keiser sold the institute to Everglades College Inc. in 2011 and turned it into a non-profit entity in the process. Funnily enough, the latter is also a non-profit organization kick-started by Keiser himself.
Keiser University is also Florida’s third largest university; the urban university serves 20,000 approximate students, with over 21 campus sites in metropolitan areas and other communities. The main campus is situated in Fort Lauderdale.
