Gardner-Webb University (GWU) is a private university which offers 4-year higher education, it opened its doors on December 2nd, 1905 as a school and in 1928 it transformed into Boiling Springs Junior College and later the college faced many problems but because of its loyal supports the college stands tall and in 1971 the college turned into senior college and after a few years the college received its university status and that's the same year it changed its name to Gardner-Webb University in remembrance of its late family which devoted their whole existence in development of this university.

The University main mission is to cultivate intellectual thinking, spiritual behavior, critical analysis, diverse nature and promote their core values which include Christian heritage, Baptist Heritage, Academic Excellence, Team Work, and Community Engagement.
