Lewis University is a private not-for-profit university established in 1932 as Holy Name Technical and later in 1962, the university changed its name to Lewis University. The increase in higher education in the period of 1960 made an impact in rapidly increasing enrollment. To provide education to a larger student body, a significant construction program was held in 1970. The university offers a combination of advanced learning and professional development which encourages individual growth and skill. It has a Roman Catholic affiliation. Admission Requirements for Lewis University

  1. Master of Science in Aviation and Transportation

  • Applicants applying for this course must have a bachelor's degree in aviation or they must have a major in a related field from a regionally accredited institution. Those applicants who have bachelor’s in unrelated fields may apply for this program as long as they have work experience in aviation or transportation industries.

  • Applicants must submit a completed application form

  • Applicants must the official transcripts from all the institutions that they have attended

  • Applicants must submit a personal essay stating explaining about their background and how the degree is going to help the applicant’s career goals

  • Applicants must submit 2 letters of recommendation

  1. RN to BSN Program

  • Applicants must submit a copy of their nurse license that is active and registered in the in the state of Illinois

Applicant must have a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college/university with a major in a social or behavioural science, or the applicant must be currently serving as a criminal justice practitioner. If the applicant does not a have a degree in any of the major mentioned or is not a criminal justice practitioner, they must complete two criminal justice courses with a grade of B or better.

  1. Master of Science in Public Safety Administration

Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university with a major in Criminal Justice, Fire Science, or Private Security, or the applicant must have any other major with a concentration of 12 semester credit hours related to Criminal Justice, Fire Science, or Private Security, or the applicant must be currently serving as a Criminal Justice, Fire Service, or Private Security practitioner with a minimum of five years’ experience.

  1. Master of Science in Computer Science

  • Applicants need to have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics or information systems is preferred.

  • Applicants looking for full admission need to have 3.0 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale.

  • Provisional admission may be granted for GPA under 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

  • International students are required to have a TOEFL test score greater than 550 (computer-based 213; Internet-based 79).

Note: When the application materials are complete, they will be forwarded to the University Graduate Council. The Council has the final say in graduate admissions. After Graduate Council review, the applicant will then be informed in writing of its decision.
