About the Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded by the United States Bowling Congress, an organization established to serve bowlers of all ages. It is the national governing body of bowling as recognized by the United States Olympic Committee. Additionally, it provides standardized guidelines to make bowling fun and fair for everyone.
This award picks out a female high school senior or college student who has exceptional qualities as a bowler. Exceptional qualities include top bowling performance on the local, regional, state and national levels. The scholarship will be formally presented at the annual USBC convention, and the candidate's parents/guardian can attend it too with all travel and hotel expenses covered by USBC.
How to apply for the scholarship?
The first step towards obtaining the scholarship is by filling up the application form that can be found on the official website.
Along with the application, the applicant must also submit an essay in around 500 words.
A student must also submit all their official academic transcripts, two reference letters, and filled FAFSA form to determine the financial position of a student.
Scholarship Amount and Deadline
- The award amounts to $6,000 per year and is non-renewable
One award is offered for an exceptional bowler.
A candidate must submit all their official documents not later than December 01, 2019.
An applicant must be an undergraduate full-time student and a member of the United States Bowling Congress (USBC).
To be eligible for the scholarship, a student should have a minimum of 3 GPA out of 4.
This scholarship is restricted to just female students from the United States as well as other parts of the world.
