About the Scholarship

This scholarship is given by the organization Connecticut Community Foundation. This scholarship is established in 1923 for the people of Greater Waterbury and the Litchfield Hills. This scholarship provides assistance for the community’s critical issues strengthens local nonprofit organizations through grants and technical assistance programs.


How to apply for the scholarship? 

Applications are available on the Connecticut Community Foundation (CCF) website.

The applicants have to submit their FAFSA certificate.

The applicants have to submit their college transcription certificate.

The applicants have to submit their academic scorecard.

The applicants have to submit their recommendation letter.

The applicants have to submit their CAT/SAT scorecard.

The applicants have to submit an essay about ownself, career planning and interest.


The awarded amount of the scholarship:

The awarded amount of the scholarship is $2,000 and is non-renewable.

But the previous recipient can apply for this scholarship.

The number of the award given to the eligible candidate yearly varies depends on the availability of fund and number of candidates apply for this.


Deadline for the scholarship:

The deadline for the scholarship is the 15th of March.


Eligibility Criteria

The candidate should be a high school senior OR an adult student entering his/her freshman year as a first-time college student.

The candidate should be a resident of the Connecticut Community Foundation's 21-town service area.

The candidate must be a U.S. citizen.

The candidate must have a grade point average of B- or higher.

The candidate should have participated in formal tennis activities in the 21-town service area (school team, racquet club program, league, etc.).
