About the Scholarship

Ann Liguori Foundation Sports Media Scholarship is awarded by New York Women in Communications. The organization was founded in the year 2015, in honor of Ann Liguori, this scholarship supports the study of sports media communications or management and is intended for those hoping to pursue a career in sports broadcasting, reporting, programming or production.


How to apply for the Scholarship?

  • The students applying for this scholarship must complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application to analyze their financial position.

  • Candidates must submit an essay of 300 to 500 words addressing the topic listed on the application.

  • Students must provide two letters of recommendation from a professor, employer and/or adviser (one must be from a professor or adviser)

  • An official transcript must be submitted from all colleges attended by a student with proof of a qualifying grade point average.


Scholarship Amount and Deadline

  • This scholarship provides $2500 annually which is non-renewable.

  • The total number of awards offered by this scholarship varies depending on the availability of funds and the total number of qualified students.

All the applications and documents must be submitted to the financial aid department no later than January 25, 2020.


Eligibility Criteria

  • An applicant must be at least a rising junior and be a legally recognized citizen of the United States

  • The award is intended for those hoping to pursue a career in sports broadcasting, reporting, programming, or production in a related field.

  • The scholarship also includes an internship with CBS Radio Sports Network.
