About the Scholarship

The Dunham-Kerley Scholarship was established by Carol Kerley and Linda Dunham in 2013 to support the LGBTQ student community with preference is given to differently-abled students or who are economically backward. 

The scholarship is awarded by Pride Foundation and is the only LGBTQ+ community foundation with a vision to ensure the people live safely and openly as whole selves in the communities. It serves in the Norwest region of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington.

Application process

  • All application must be submitted online.

  • The individuals must be a resident of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, or Washington but can study elsewhere. 

  • Applicants must be pursuing post-secondary education which includes a community college, four-year public or private college or university, certificates or diploma program, etc

  • If selected, students are required to bring a transcript.

  • Applicants must be physically disabled with limited economic resources.

  • Students must be members of the LGBTQ and allied community.

  • The scholarship amount awarded to students.

The scholarship amount awarded and Deadline

The scholarship offered as financial assistance to applicants can amount within the range of $500 to $12000.

Students are required to submit proper documents on or before Friday, 10th January 2020. 

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be a high school senior or undergraduate student.

  • Must be a legal permanent resident.

  • Students must identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or as a straight ally dedicated to LGBT causes.

  • Must reside in one of the following states: Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana or Alaska.

  • This award is for U.S. students.
