About the Scholarship

The scholarship is sponsored by Pride Foundation to provide financial assistance to students who have been stigmatized, isolated or closeted because of sexual identity issues. Selection for the scholarship is made on the committee's criteria.  

Application Process

  • Candidates are required to fill online application available on the official website.

  • Candidates are required to submit only one application to be considered for all Pride Foundation.

  • Candidates are required to answer six essay questions on topics such as educational goals, career goals, activities, giving back, challenges, and a quote in about 3000 characters.

  • Students who are currently studying or plans to study visual arts must submit two samples of his/her work.

  • Candidates are required to bring a transcript.

  • Applicants must be pursuing post-secondary education including community or four-year public or private college, certificate and technical programs.

Scholarship Amount

The Scholarship offered through the foundation is a minimum of $500 to a maximum of $12000. The award is determined by the Pride Foundation and is subject to vary. It is offered annually and is non-renewable.

Deadline for the Scholarship

The deadline for the scholarship is Friday, January 10, 2020. Students are requested to submit all documents related information before the deadline.


Eligibility Criteria


  • Candidates must be a senior high school, undergraduate, or graduate student when applying.

  • Candidates must be from one of the following states must be a resident: Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Alaska.

  • Candidates must be a citizen of the United States.

  • Must be great importance in the visual arts.

  • Students who are self-identified lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgendered are given preference; LGBT family members; or strong allies.
