About the Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded by the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation, one of the most well-respected leaders on charitable giving in the country. Their mission is to improve the quality of life in Greater Kansas City by increasing charitable giving and connecting donors to community needs that they care about. GKCF has provided more than $4billion in grants since it's inception.
This scholarship yearly provides grants to graduating high school seniors at the Fayette High school who have been involved in sports. The main idea behind providing this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to students continuing their education.
How to apply for the scholarship?
The applicant must complete the application which can be found on the GKCCF site by attaching all the necessary documents.
Along with the application, the applicant should also submit an essay in approximately 500 words on the topic mentioned in the application.
All the official academic transcripts with the ACT/SAT scorecards must be submitted to assess a student's academic performance.
A student should also submit a letter of recommendation.
How much the scholarship award amounts to?
A fully filled application with necessary documents and records must be submitted to the GKCCF on or before April 30. The deadline may vary and the information available is for the previous academic year.
An applicant must be a graduating senior from the Fayette High School.
The applicant must be a student in good standing at the time of application.
To be eligible for the scholarship, a recipient must have participated in athletics in high school.
