NIH Undergraduate Scholarship Program is accredited by the National Institutes of Health. The National Institutes of Health (NIH), a part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is the nation’s medical research agency — making important discoveries that improve health and save lives.


How to apply for this scholarship grant?

  • Students must demonstrate his information on his/her coursework.

  • Candidates must provide a resume; a personal statement.

  • A letter of recommendation from 3 people should be submitted by the students.

  • Applicants must demonstrate financial need and submit "Certification for Exceptional Financial Need" form.


NIH Undergraduate Scholarship Program award amounts to

  • This scholarship provides $20000 each year which is renewable for up to 3 additional years.

  • The total number of awards offered by this scholarship varies depending on the availability of funds and students meeting their requirements.


Deadline information

The applications are to be presented before the end of March 14, 2020. Understudies are informed to present their grant application, and other requirements are to be submitted before the due date. Applications and other data are accessible online on the National Institutes of Health website.


Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be a citizen or a permanent resident of the U.S. 

  • The applicant must be enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited university or college for an undergraduate degree as a full-time student.

  • The applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher.

  • The applicant must demonstrate a financial need along with the 'Exceptional Financial Need' certificate from the undergraduate institution financial aid office.
