The state saying for West Virginia maybe, “Mountaineers Are Always Free.” But, after looking at the price of college tuition, it may be hard to believe. Luckily, there are plenty of college scholarships for West Virginia residents to help make this saying hold true.

Have you ever heard of the term, “Mountaineers Are Always Free”? It is a famous saying in the state of West Virginia. The official state anthem of West Virginia came into existence in 1971 by folk singer John Denver. The state is always  referred to as “almost heaven.” The state is well known for its Denver’s musings in “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” the sweeping landscapes and beautiful natural wonder of the Mountaineer State, salt-of-the-earth people. The state has been constantly working to uplift its students and to give them a bright future and in order to do so, it has come with the West Virginia Scholarships.

What is the West Virginia Scholarship?

West Virginia scholarship is state-level financial funding given to students to help them deal with their college finances. The state offers different forms of awards, grants, and college scholarships for its students so that they are deprived of a college education.

Even if you don’t currently live in West Virginia, but plan to attend one of its schools such as Marshall University, West Virginia University (WVU), West Virginia State University (WVSU), Mountain State University (MSU), or University of Charleston, you may also have the chance to go to school for free with these scholarships.

Even though a college education is expensive, the state of western Virginia is trying its best to make it affordable and debt-free for its students. Let’s explore more to know more about this scholarship.
