What is a College Junior Scholarship?

As its name suggests it is a scholarship available for students who are in junior year of their college. There are many universities, colleges, government, and private universities which provide grants or scholarships to students who are in junior year of college. 

As a college junior, you must be knowing the life of a college junior. Whether it’s about finally deciding on your major or searching for an internship, or looking into future plans like graduate school, there’s a lot that goes into the life of a college junior. In such a case at least having a scholarship will make you feel a little relaxed financially, if not from angles. So, yourself out by applying to scholarships that are available for college juniors to secure your future in the final year. 

Types of scholarships for college students

There are different types of scholarships available for college juniors. Broadly there are three types of scholarships available for college juniors and those are Minority scholarship, Transfer scholarship, and Scholarships by Major.

Minority Scholarships

Minority scholarships are for people who are less in number. There are scholarships for African Americans, Native Americans, Hispanic and Latinos, Asian and Pacific Islanders. Some universities and colleges even offer scholarships to women and LGBTQ students as these are the people who are considered to be minorities. To qualify as a minority student, one doesn't need to be a first-generation immigrant or the first person in one’s family to go to college. Scholarships for minority students vary in their criteria and are not limited to race or ethnicity.

Transfer Scholarships

Transfer scholarships are largely for those students who choose to study at a community college for the first two years to save some money and then transfer to a general college to complete their college degree. 

Scholarships by Major 

There are many scholarships for students who major in a specific subject area. If you know right from your high school days that what you want to major in, then there are many scholarships for you. Many universities, colleges, and organizations award scholarships to students pursuing a specific major.
