Langston University is Oklahoma's only historically Black university, located in Langston in the central part of the state. With about 3,000 students, it's an actual residential campus with dorms, student life, athletic programs, and the full college experience. The curriculum is liberal arts-based with strong programs in education, business, engineering, and agriculture (reflecting Oklahoma's rural identity).
The campus has genuine institutional pride. Chapel and faith-based community are part of life, and the culture emphasizes Black excellence, leadership, and service. Class sizes are reasonable, faculty are accessible, and the sense of community is authentic. Athletics and Greek life are strong, and most students live on campus or nearby.
Langston is for Black students seeking an HBCU experience with real residential community, affordable tuition, and a solid liberal arts education. Graduates move into careers and graduate programs with networks and confidence built on genuine relationships.
