There is a public university in Edmond, OK called University of Central Oklahoma. University of Central Oklahoma covers an area of 210 acres. University of Central Oklahoma was founded in the year 1890. Keeping the pursuit of research, innovation, and excellence at the center, University of Central Oklahoma has been imparting quality education to its students. The motto of the varsity is Ubi Motus Est (Latin) and its official colors are blue and bronze. Out of total 16,910 students enrolled at UCO, 13,339 belong to undergraduate courses while 1,482 are postgraduate students. To teach various courses to the students, the school has employed a total of 834 faculty. Around 79% of the students are 24 and under at University of Central Oklahoma. The college has produced several achievers in its 130 years of existence and some of the notable alumni are Lauren Nelson, Randall L. Stephenson, Milena Govich, and Milt Heflin. Sports is an intergral part of any campus, and in this case, the university’s teams are affiliated to NCAA Division II – MIAA. UCO offers a total of 432 undergraduate and graduate programs, including both residential and online. The university also has a long list of accreditations. It has been accredited by ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc.), ABFSE (American Board of Funeral Service Education, Inc.), ACBSP (Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs), and ADiA (American Dietetic Association). The total endowment of the University of Central Oklahoma is around $32 million (2017).
