As explained, the application process is broken down into 4 simple steps that are as given below.
Step 1 - Submitting the application
Applying to Liberty University is now easier than ever!
You must first apply online with your phone or computer. You can also apply by calling a university at (800) 543-5317 or visit the admission office.
Once your application is processed (1-2 business days after applying), you can claim your university account by visiting liberty.edu/Account.
Your myLU account will give you access to the following:
You will need your Liberty University ID number to claim your account. Call us at (800) 543-5317 if you experience any difficulty. You’ll also receive an email from us with this information and your ID number.
Step 2 - Acceptance by LU
The process starts with a student depositing $250 as an enrollment deposit.
If you haven’t already submitted your deposit, we do recommend doing so as early as possible because the sooner you deposit, the more monetary support you will be eligible for.
The payment again must be made online or call the admissions office.
Once you are done applying, you must submit the following documents to receive your admission decision.
Essay Submission
You have to answer two questions in around 150 words each. Write and send your essay by emailing a PDF or Word document to [email protected].
Transcripts
You have to prove that your academics records are really good by submitting all the necessary high school and college transcripts. At LU, this can be submitted through Transcript Request Form or by logging into Parchment (or another secured electronic transcript program).
High school transcripts are not required if you have already completed 12+ transferable credits and submit a High School Self-Certification through your ASIST account.
Official Test Scores
SAT Liberty Code: 5385, ACT Liberty Code: 4364
The Writing section of the SAT is not considered for acceptance or for Liberty scholarships.
All standardized test scores are super-scored, meaning LU considers only your best composite ACT or SAT-based on writing, math, and reading sections.
After reviewing your application, additional information or documents may be requested by the admission committee.
Step 3 - Confirm Your Attendance
Firstly, complete your Financial Check-In and Select On-Campus Housing
Sign-in to myLU and find “Financial Check-In” under “Login Shortcuts.” Within FCI, you will complete the following:
Complete Your Math and English Assessments
Login to your myLU> Blackboard > My Access > Courses > Math Assessment and English Assessment.
These assessments need to be completed in order to register for classes.
If your score is above 22 on the first part of the Math Assessment, you will be asked to take part 2.
If transferring in college credit for math or English, you may not be required to take the respective assessment.
Step 4: Register for Classes
Once you have completed your Financial Aid Check-In, you’ll be now eligible to register for courses. You can view the university’s Course Registration Tutorials for registration tips and instructions.
Remember, the math and English assessments need to be completed before you register for classes.
Are you already done with your assessments? Use the Math and English Placement Guide to determine which math and English courses you should take.
You could also visit the College of Applied Studies and Academic Success (CASAS) page to discover major-specific Degree Completion Programs.
If you are a transfer student with over 12 credit hours, you will need to speak with one of our professional advisors from the CASAS department by calling (434) 592-4110.
