Its first distinguished speaker was George H.W. Bush in 1983. 'Lance the Knight' is the school mascot for the university. The university has around 2,842 students enrolled in various undergraduate and graduate programs and has students from 93 countries.

In December 2019 SSC and Coach of the Year title were Lynn University volleyball's achievements.
