Step 1- Apply for admission by completing the Virginia Community College System (VCCS) online application. Once a student has completed and submitted the application form, that student will receive a username and password, officially the student has been admitted to MECC. Students can then log in to the College’s portal “MyMECC”.

Step 2- Apply for Financial aid. Financial aid may come in the form of grants, loans,  scholarships, and work-study positions. MECC encourages students to apply for financial aid. Students should fill the Free Application for Federal Student Aid(FAFSA). The school code for MECC to include in the form is 009629. Scholarships are also available for students at MECC. More details about the scholarships can be found at www.mecc.edu/scholarships.

Step 3- Meet with a college admission advisor, take the placement test, and submit transcripts. Students don’t need to pay any fees to register for the placement test. Placement test should be taken by students who are applying for financial aid or planning to pursue courses which require English or Maths subjects. Testing Center at MECC administers the placement test.

Step 4- Register and pay for classes through the college’s system “MyMECC”. To register for classes, the system will ask for the students’ username and password they received when they completed the first step of applying for admission. Students can then pay for their classes through “MyMECC” itself. Follow https://www.mecc.edu/students/paying-for-college/pay-for-tuition/ to understand the payment procedure in detail.

After completing all the steps, students should check the New Student Checklist, which provides email activation instructions, information about parking permit and student ID.
