Mountain Empire Community College’s mission is to provide its students with high-quality education with adept workforce training to create a globally motivated workforce. Step 1- Apply for admission by completing the Virginia Community College System (VCCS) online application. Once a student has completed and submitted the application form, that student will receive a username and password, officially the student has been admitted to MECC. Students can then log in to the College’s portal “MyMECC”.
Step 2- Apply for Financial aid. Financial aid may come in the form of grants, loans, scholarships, and work-study positions. MECC encourages students to apply for financial aid. Students should fill the Free Application for Federal Student Aid(FAFSA). The school code for MECC to include in the form is 009629. Scholarships are also available for students at MECC. Step 3- Meet with a college admission advisor, take the placement test, and submit transcripts. Students don’t need to pay any fees to register for the placement test. Placement test should be taken by students who are applying for financial aid or planning to pursue courses which require English or Maths subjects. Testing Center at MECC administers the placement test.
Step 4- Register and pay for classes through the college’s system “MyMECC”. To register for classes, the system will ask for the students’ username and password they received when they completed the first step of applying for admission.
