Roger Williams University hands over generous amounts of money through scholarships, aids, and grants to students for aiding them in their career and educational ride.
RWU has provided $60.211 Million ($60,210,808) in financial aid which is pretty big and about 81% of students have reported having received financial aid which is much larger than most colleges.

Scholarships
The scholarship is a great way of acknowledging students based on their merit, qualification, and above all a way to showcase financial support to students in their pursuance for education.
Scholarships can be paid by universities, federal or state governments, or outside entities. These scholarships can be earned based on one’s academic excellence such as GPAs, essays, and selection process and it is based on student’s merit.
Institutional Scholarships
RWU provides merit-based scholarships of over $29 Million ranging from $8,500 to $22,500. All incoming students are eligible for merit-based scholarships after review of their applications.
High-performance students receive departmental scholarships based on their performance from their departments.
The various scholarship awards are:
Merit Scholarships: No higher GPA is required, students need to remain in good standards with university only.
- Community Scholarship: An amount ranging between $8,500 to $12,000 is awarded.
- Dean Scholarship: An amount between $13,000 to $17,000 is awarded.
- Presidential Scholarship: An amount between $18,000 to $22,500 is awarded to eligible candidates.
Academic Excellence Scholarships: A sum of $1,000 is awarded to students with a GPA of equal and above 3.6 GPA at the end of the academic year.
SAAHP has various endowed scholarship funds available for students. The various scholarship awards are:

Grants
Grants are also financial aids but unlike scholarships, grants are provided to students based on their financial needs and circumstances.
Federal Grants
This program needs a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form for determining the student’s eligibility. We recommend using an online method rather than a paper mode of submission for easier and faster approval.
Pell Grant is one of the federal grants provided which assists students in exceptional financial needs.
Students with the lowest family requirement are recipients of Pell Grants.
State Grants
Many states have scholarships and grant programs for students attending institutions of higher education. The application process, eligibility criteria, and the number of awards differ from state to state. Specific information can be obtained from high school guidance offices and the Department of Education in the applicant’s state.
Institutional Grants
RWU Travel Grant is provided to students who reside outside the northeast of the United States.
An amount of $1,500 is provided to all qualified students to support international students and families as a means of gratitude from the college.
This grant is renewed annually and students meeting geographic criteria are automatically eligible for these grants.
Loans
Loans are provided to the required students. Students who are not eligible for any of the grants, scholarships are advised to use the student loans provided to them. Loans are provided with interest and have to be paid back after a certain amount of time.
The various types of loans provided are:
- Subsidized Federal Direct Loans: These loans are low interest and a cumulative amount of $23,000 is provided for the whole 4 years.
- Subsidized Federal Direct Loans: These loans are also of low interest and are not awarded based on financial needs.
Federal PLUS Loans: These loans are for students to be borrowed by their parents. Various private loan options are also available.
