South University is a private not-for-profit type university established back in 1899 and was first founded under the name ‘Draughan's Practical Business College’, headquartered in Savannah, Georgia. Later the name was changed to Draughon’s Junior College. In the year 1974 after the institution was acquired by the ‘South family’, the university finally got its current name in the year 1986.

The main campus of the university is located in Savannah, Georgia, and consists of 07 other campuses across the United States of America with 2 learning sites. It offers a wide variety of courses and has over 8,954 students enrolled in the university from all over the United States, as well as other parts of the world.

South University Admission Process

Application Procedure

In the South University the terms beginning in October, January, April, and June are operated on a quarter system. Compressed class calendars to meet the needs of the students are offered by the South University. The online classes are designed to meet the needs of today’s busy adults. The online classes are operated in a compressed format of 28-days, 5 and 10 weeks.

The student needs to follow the steps given below before starting the admission process

  • The application form should be submitted by the students to the university

  • Students should submit the verification of their high school graduation or equivalent before the commencement of the course

  • A date for the further admission process will be notified by the university

  • Applicants will receive written notification of the action taken by the admissions office after the completion of the above steps


General Admission Requirements

Students interested to undertake online degree programs are required to provide proof of the date high school graduation or equivalent (with a minimum of CGPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale) was earned.The university administered placement test should be completed by the students during the first session of attendance
An international baccalaureate program diploma will be accepted by the South University in the requirement for the high school graduation
If a student fails to submit the verification of high school graduation within 10 weeks after the commencement of classes then the students will have to face the following consequences

  • The student will be removed from the class

  • The enrolment of the students will be cancelled

  • The student will not be receiving any transcripts from the university

Note: Students who are having unusual situations or circumstances are granted exceptions to the 10-week period. The office of South University must receive the information about unusual situations and circumstances for approval.
