Alabama Scholarships are financial rewards offered to students who are residents of or pursuing their education in Alabama. This makes students eligible for college scholarships offered by the state of Alabama.

Academic scholarships are merit-based, requiring that students earn certain grade point averages and scores on the PSAT, SAT, or ACT to qualify. Here is a sampling of what UA and other sources have to offer, but remember, it’s important to investigate as many options as possible.

Types of Alabama Scholarships

There is a wide range of scholarships provided by Alabama for its resident college-bound students. The awards are either based on merit or provided on the basis of the demonstration of financial need which include the University of Alabama Merit Scholarships. It can also be based on a combination of the two. Depending on the availability of funding programs are subject to change.

The following examples should demonstrate the scope of Alabama’s financial aid programs as administered by either the Alabama Commission on Higher Education or the Southeast Alabama Community Foundation.
