How to Apply

The application process for Creighton University is fairly simple and straightforward. The university also provides prospective students with admission councillors who will help you every step of the way.

It is imperative to create a student account where you can keep track of your application status as well as any financial transactions that have taken place.

There are two routes which can be taken to apply to colleges under the university:

  • The Creighton Application: It is a streamlined application for students who wish to apply to just one school.

  • The Common Application: It is for students who wish to apply to a number of schools.

Since both applications require you to sign up on the university’s portal, all your processes are done online itself. You may either create a new Creighton University account or log in to an existing one and follow any instructions provided to you.

Candidates can also submit their ACT scores for securing admission to Creighton University. According to the latest data, the applicant should have an average ACT score of 26 to get accepted. Moreover, most of the candidates accepted by Creighton University have composite ACT scores in the range of 23-29. Creighton does not maintain a minimum score requirement in relation to the GPA or standardised tests of a student. Instead, a holistic and comprehensive view is taken in regards to the student’s application. A detailed assessment of extracurricular activities, academic excellence and community service is undertaken. However, an average estimated GPA of 3.75 can prove beneficial.

The application requirements for admission include:

  • A complete application form: The form can be of two types depending on the route of admission you have taken as discussed above.

  • ACT/SAT scores: Creighton University’s ACT school code is 2444 and SAT school code is 6121. These scores will be needed during enrolment. However, students who are applying through the test-optional do not require these scores.

  • High school transcript: Your school must directly send this information to the university. Creighton will be unable to accept the transcript if it is not submitted by the school. The scale on which the grading has taken place must also be explicitly mentioned.

  • Personal statement or essay: This essay allows the admissions committee to better understand you as a person. This essay also gives you the opportunity to bring out your views and opinions.

  • High school counsellor evaluation: Your counsellor must complete the Secondary School Report from the common application.

The stress of applying to colleges is huge and to alleviate some of that stress, Creighton has provided students with an academic calendar. This academic calendar is equipped with all the important dates that a student must be aware of during this admission process. 

The Fall 2020 application for students who are still deciding to enrol is currently still open and available. Furthermore, the application for the Fall 2021 semester will open on August 1.

Here are some important dates that must be kept in mind during this admission process. 

  • August 1, 2020: Application opens for admission for  Fall 2021 semester. 

  • October 1, 2020: Submission opens for Free Application for Federal Student Aid. This remains open till 30 April 2021.

  • November 1, 2020: Early Application for admission closes. All the required papers and forms must be submitted by this date. The Admission Committee will make a decision by December 15.

  • December 1, 2020: Priority scholarship consideration deadline. Submit all the correct forms and applications on time to be considered for the Priority Scholarship

  • January 5, 2021: Documents and papers related to additional scholarship opportunities and leadership and honours programs due at midnight.

  • January 15, 2021: Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered. This will happen for the greatest amount of need-based aid.

  • March 15, 2021: Deadline for scholarship consideration. Submit all necessary documents and applications on time to be considered for this scholarship. After this date, scholarships will be given on a rolling basis.

  • April 1, 2021: International Students have to submit their applications for admission along with all required documents on time. This will allow them to be considered for scholarships.

  • May 1, 2021: Reserve your spot at Creighton University.
