Ranked as one of the best universities of USA, it is expected that UNC-Chapel Hill is a university that many students aspire to study at. Given the name of a public ivy college, it justifies it with an acceptance rate of mere 23%. Here we are charting out the admission process for both undergraduate and graduate applicants, so that they can go through the process in a much more unstressed way.
Undergraduate Application
Choose the Application Form
UNC-Chapel Hill accepts both Common App, as well as, Coalition Application. The applicants are requested to choose which one they want to apply through, based on their convenience.
Submit Official Transcripts
The applicants are required to submit their official highschool transcripts as well as secondary school statement which has to be submitted by your school counselor on your behalf.
Submit Essays

Submit Standardized Scores
The university mandates the applicants to take either ACT or SAT and submit the scores for the same.
Submit Letter of Recommendation
The applicants are required to submit a letter of recommendation or an endorsement form from a teacher of their high school from a course relevant to the program they are applying for.
Submit Supplemental Documents
You are required to submit program specific documents.
Submit Application Fee
AT the end of all, the applicants are required to pay the non-refundable application fee of $85, however, in case they meet the criteria for financially weak applicants, they can request for a fee waiver.
Graduate Application

The applicants for graduate programs are required to apply through UNC-Chapel Hill online admission portal
Submit Unofficial Transcripts
The applicants are required to upload their unofficial transcripts of university/college they have attended, and are required to send in their official transcripts only if they get an admission offer
Submit Letters of Recommendation
The applicants are required to submit three letters of recommendation from relevant sources, the email addresses of whom are supposed to be written on the online portal
Submit Statement of Purpose
Statement of Purpose refers to your personal statement mentioning your reasons of wanting to study in the university and the course that you are applying for. It helps the application review committee to understand what you want from your course and whether they can provide that to you.
Submit Supplemental Documents/Standardized Test Scores
Some of the programs require the applicants to take exams such as the GMAT, the GRE and so on, and some other might require you to submit some portfolios and so on. These are program specific and can be found out here.
Submit Resume
The applicants for graduate programs, unlike the undergraduate programs are required to submit their CV/resume
Submit the Application Fee
After submitting all the required documents, the applicants are required to submit the non-refundable application fee of $95, or they can file for a fee waiver.
