It is the only university in the state to have freshwater research in the UWM Water Research Institute, and so on.

As the university strives to make groundbreaking discoveries, and innovate, it boasts of unique areas of research, and departments. The University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee’s mascot is Pounce the Panther, and the students are called the panthers. They are provided affordable and world-class education here.

University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee is one of the best known universities for research, not only in the USA but also all over the world. It is a Public university located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, it boasts of 199 academic programs across 15 schools and colleges, and 1,683 faculty and instructional staff. The university is the only one in Wisconsin to have architecture, freshwater sciences, and public health schools. It also offers the only American Sign Language program in the state.
