Football Scholarships are offered to students who exhibit good performance in football as well as meeting the academic requirements. Football is one of the most sought after games in many parts of America. Even universities and colleges do promote this sport to a great extent. Many state universities as well as private universities are known for their contribution to football. Being part of the college football team is also considered as an honor and a matter of pride. If you are in your college’s or high school’s football team then you are considered as a legacy for your school or college. But being awarded a college scholarship meant for football players is not so easy. In order to get a football scholarship one needs to impress scouts, coaches, and recruiters, they also need to impress the college admissions council with their GPA. Only a good combination of both academics and sports can help you in getting a scholarship offered by NCAA.

So, if you are actually aiming for a football scholarship then make sure that you do well both in academics and in sports. Moreover, there are approximately 850 college football programs, and more than 80,000 college football players are playing football at the college level. There are 248 NCAA D1 FBS & FCS schools; 170 NCAA D2 schools, 244 NCAA D3 schools, 85 NAIA schools, 68 NJCAA schools and 69 CCCAA Schools.

Football scholarships are also divided into different divisions. If you are after a division 1 football scholarship, then you need not necessarily wait for the recruiters’ and coaches’ response. You have to be proactive to learn how to be scouted and recruited.
