The original American Basketball Association (ABA) was a men's professional basketball league, from 1967 to 1976. The ABA ceased to exist with the American Basketball Association–National Basketball Association merger in 1976, leading to several teams joining the National Basketball Association and to the introduction of the 3-point shot in the NBA in 1979.

Ever since the NBA made it compulsory for players with remarkable potential to play at least one year of college basketball, the college game has gotten even more famous.

During the season, there is basically a basketball game to watch on television at the end of every day and the NCAA’s playoff tournament is called “March Madness“ for a purpose.

Each basketball team constitutes of an average of 12 to 13 players. Scholarships are divided among each player based on their coach’s preference. Players will receive a full or partial athletic scholarship. Some basketball players prefer to compete without a scholarship.
